your stay

We want your time here to be relaxed, comfortable, and safe — so here’s everything you need to know before (and during) your stay at The Meadows.

Check-in: 2pm
Check-out: 10am

A few things to note

Water:
Filtered drinking water is available from the kitchen taps. The outdoor tap runs on dam water, which is great for plants but not suitable for drinking.

Bathroom Comforts:
You’ll find beautiful, natural products in the bathroom -including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. If you’d like to treat yourself, these products are also available for purchase. Just ask!

Outdoor bath:
If you’re enjoying the outdoor bath (and we hope you do!), please please use plastic cups only - accidents happen, and we’d love to keep the space safe for everyone.

Heating & Cooling:
There’s a portable oil heater, a reverse cycle unit, and a fireplace in the main living area to keep things cosy year-round.

Exploring the Property:
Feel free to put on some covered shoes and roam - you’ll find stunning picnic spots and majestic trees. That said, please keep an eye out - this land is also home to snakes, so take care where you step.

Fire safety
if you’re enjoying the fire, please never leave it unattended - and always keep a close eye on kids and pets nearby.

EXPLORE THE SURROUNDS

  • A charming country town just 15 minutes from The Meadows, Bega is known for its rolling green pastures, friendly pace, and of course, its world-famous cheese. Start your visit at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, where you can sample locally made dairy products and learn about the region’s farming history.

Stroll the main street to find Red Café — perfect for a relaxed breakfast or coffee in the garden — and Osteria da Franco, a local favourite for flaky pastries.

You’ll also find boutique shops, galleries, and fresh produce markets. It’s the kind of place where a quick stop often turns into a slow afternoon.

  • After the devastating bushfires, the town has rebuilt with warmth, resilience, and creativity. You’ll find a community of artists, makers, and growers who bring soul into this little place.

  • Pack a picnic and if the weather’s right, go for a paddle or refreshing dip. It’s also a great place for birdwatching, reading in the shade, or just being still.

  • A boutique gin distillery that celebrates craft and local flavour. Set among scenic farmland, it’s a lovely stop for an afternoon tasting.
